Wiggle have knocked £55.80 off the price of the Elite Crono Mag ElastoGel Turbo Trainer which is down to just £130.

CRONO MAG from Elite is a magnetic-type training roller with five different constant-speed resistance levels.
It is possible to variate the effort with a remote lever that is fixed to the handlebar (fits bar diameters from Ø 25.4 to Ø 31.8 mm) with a clamp that has a quick release.
The resistance on the CRONO MAG is generated by powerful magnets placed on the flywheel and two discs that cross its magnetic field.
The big flywheel, whose weight reaches 1700 gr., offer an inertia that can make the pedalling round and progressive which coincides with the change in the resistance level.
Crono Mag has the Elastogel roller, this gives a greater adherence to the tyre, with a subsequent decrease of 50% of the noise compared to a trainer with an aluminium roller, it also has a decrease of 20% in tyre wear.
Another very important innovation of the Crono Mag is the frame, with its compass structure that allows it to move the load on the resistance unit in function of the weight and the position of the athlete, differently from what happens with a classic kind of frame, where such load is pre-determined by a constant load mechanic system.

Evans Cycles have some good deals on turbo trainers at the moment - and the most popular i'd imagine will be the Cycleops Mag Trainer - one of the cheapest magnetic turbo trainers with resistance on the market before discount anyway.

Chain Reaction dont sell many turbo trainers in spring so they have a bit of a sale on including the Tacx T1000 Antares Roller Trainer - which is a lovely collapsible with conical rollers. The design of the rollers makes it virtually impossible to ride off the rollers. You can ride freely on these rollers and therefore you can improve your coordination and technique. When you ride without the brace you will need to concentrate. This is vital to track racing.

Tacx Antares rollers distinguish themselves through the heavy conical rollers that create the momentum of mass inertia. When collapsed the rollers measure only 80 cm and are therefore easily transportable.
Evans Cycles have £18 off the very popular Cycleops Magneto Trainer

When riding outside isn't an option, the Magneto trainer is. As the world's first magnetic trainer with progressive resistance, the Magneto increases resistance as you increase pedal speed, so your effort and speed follow each other on a natural curve. There are no manual adjustments needed, simply shift gears as you would when riding outside. With a quick load cam lever, you simply adjust the resistance unit once and then lock it into place each time you put your bike on the trainer. This way there are no guessing games in setting resistance from ride to ride. Combine this with a smooth, quiet ride, locking bolt ring and heavy-duty steel construction, and you're ready to sprint, spin and climb with confidence.
Chain Reaction have knocked a whopping 20% off the Tacx T1000 Antares Rollers:
The new rollers by Tacx. Collapsible with conical rollers. The design of the rollers makes it virtually impossible to ride off the rollers. You can ride freely on these rollers and therefore you can improve your coordination and technique. When you ride without the brace you will need to concentrate. This is vital to track racing.

Training on the turbo trainer can be boring, so it is best to devise a program that is complex and keeps you thinking. Not only does this help you get the best from your physical workout, it also helps keep your mind occupied.
The best way to approach turbo training is a pyramid session - one that starts out gentle, works up and then cools down.
THE PYRAMID WITH SPRINTS
1-10 mins: gentle
10-20 mins: work up tempo so you sweat
20-30 mins: hard but not so hard that tempo reduces throughout the 10 mins
30-35 mins: gentle and ease off
35-45 mins: every 1 minute up speed, and the last 10 seconds sprint, then 1 min easy, and repeat
45-55 mins: gentle
55-60 mins: spin with little pressure to get heart rate down.

One of the best deals we think is the Minoura E-RDA-80 which uses your rim as resistance, rather than the tyre which is superb for odd shaped wheels and for before races.
.jpg)
Whether you're after a rigorous training session or just a weight maintenance spin, a Minoura trainer will provide you with all the benefits you'll ever need without having to leave the house. Ready to go straight from the box, you can expect class leading levels of build quality, stability and quietness. All units include a replacement rear wheel skewer. The RDA-80 offers a super quiet training experience by applying the resistance to the wheel rim instead of the tyre. This system also has the benefit of eliminating tyre wear and allowing easy use for Mountain Bikes with knobbly tyres. A fantastic home or race trainer for both Road and Mountain Bikes!
